Crowley Varsity Girls win District

The Crowley Varsity Girls Cross Country team won their district meet on October 29, 2008. They beat the favored Mansfield Timberview team by only five points. Susan came in third overall with her personal best time of 12:04 on the two mile course.

Since their team won the district title, they will be going to the regional meet on Saturday, November 8, which means a 5-hour drive starting at 5 am, 2 hours to watch the meets, followed by another 5-hour drive home (everything is in Lubbock in West Texas). Last year the regional meet didn't go well for the Crowley girls, and expectations are not too high this year either, but we are all pulling for them.

Ben claims "guns of steel", but there seems to be some doubt among the others as to the validity of this statement. He also claims to have a 6-pack, so I went to his room looking for a case of root beer, but I couldn't find it. So doubt remains. Then he claimed it wasn't in his room, but instead was all in his stomach, so I guess he hid the soda and drank it all before the rest of us could get any.

Ben wanted Camereon to know that he is going to beat him at tennis when he comes back for the holidays.

Penny's soccer coach says she's doing really well, especially on defense. So I took some pictures to show her in her best action.

The rest of the family is doing well. Terri was back in SLC this weekend as her good friend Jenae died Wednesday. Sad time, but she got to see Cameron, Aaron, Danielle, Nancy and her Mom and Dad again. Flying standbye still remains a pain as one flight was delayed 2 hours, but she still made it ok.

Halloween was a riot for the 1st timers Min-Ji and Manita. When the skeleton in the coffin leaning against the tree suddenly came to life, Min-Ji screamed loud enough to cause a disturbance in the neighborhood.

The amount of candy collected by the kids was close to 1 ton. Ben has his organized by type, color, hue, weight, ..................

We added some old pictures here to remind us how much we change over time. People forget how much they have grown, or how much they change, so we are going back into memory lane for a bit.

Update of family

Normal week - 2 soccer pictures + 2 soccer practices + soccer games, 11-year old camp-out, cross country meet, trip to American Girl Doll store with inquisitive exchange students, birthday party prep + trips to store for presents, birthday party, church,work.... I love this life. No wonder Heavenly Father made it so special (short/accountable/rewarding/challenging/goal-oriented/ fun/mysterious/agonizing/growth/free-agency/work enhanced/family focused). My knee continues to decline in value, stock market crash wipes out 40% of retirement savings, good food, and dreams that make no sense. Never a dull moment unless allowed.

Lindsey enjoying Norway. Min-Ji struggling with English. Susan struggling with not enough hours in the day to do all she wants, Ben ill, Penny anxious for birthday party, Cameron low-key (no information free flowing although Selina is occupying his time), Jessica tired but creative, Ezra growing & learning, Aaron & Danielle NYC joyful, Terri ailing & healing, Ron busy.

Some pictures of the latest of the kids sports activities.
